AS Roma coach, Claudio Ranieri, will not refuse the offer to replace Marcello Lippi as Italy coach after the 2010 World Cup.
Although the World Cup has not held, Lippi has stressed long ago that he would leave “Gli Azzurri” after the tournament. Whatever the results achieved Fabio Cannavaro et al in South Africa, Lippi chose to resign.
This inevitably has led to whispering about who’s going to be a substitute Lippi later. Some names are associated with these positions, among others, Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti, Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli, and Ranieri himself.
“If that would happen, then we’ll talk about it, Rome and FIGC (Italian Football Federation). However, currently there is no nothing,” said Ranieri responded to these issues.
Lippi had earlier retreated from his position coach “La Nazionale”. After the lead Italy into world champion in 2006, the former Juventus coach has chosen to retreat. He was replaced by Roberto Donadoni, but Lippi and then returned to play Italy in World Cup qualifier. Just like Lippi, previously Ranieri Juventus coach. However, the coach nicknamed “The Tinkerman” that had never trained the national team.
