3. Caledonian Braves FC (Edusport Academy)
The club started out as a residential youth academy for French football players called Edusport Academy. It was established in 2011 and was first housed in the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire. In 2015, it moved to Lesser Hampden in Glasgow. In 2014, a second facility with an Edinburgh address was opened. They fielded a team in Scottish senior football under the Edusport Academy brand starting in the 2014–15 season, becoming the first private academy to do so in a recognised senior league.
Before being promoted to the Lowland League in 2017, they were a member of the South of Scotland League. As Edusport, the senior squad competed at the Galabank in Annan, Dumfries and Galloway (2015–2019) and Hamilton Palace Sports Ground in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire (2014–2015).
The senior squad started functioning independently from the academy in 2018 when they introduced Our Football Club, a membership programme. They changed their name to the Caledonian Braves in 2019 and established an Alliance Park in North Lanarkshire’s Strathclyde Country Park.

4. Rangers FC Academy
Apart from their elite team, Rangers Football Club also runs a football academy with multiple teams, the highest of which is the B team. The academy’s B team participates in friendly challenge matches against different domestic and European teams in line with the academy’s development plan; the B team declined to play in the SPFL Reserve League after winning the competition in 2019. Previously, the Rangers Swifts were the name of the team’s second squad.
The under-20 team ended rival Celtic’s record of six straight league titles and defeated them 5–0 in the Youth Cup final at Hampden Park by winning both the Scottish Youth Cup and the league in the 2006–07 season. The Rangers under-18 squad earned a spot in the UEFA Youth League for the first time in 2019. Both the Glasgow Cup and the Scottish Challenge Cup are open to underage teams.

5. Aberdeen FC Academy
Apart from their senior squad that participates in the Scottish Premiership, Aberdeen F.C. also fields junior teams in the club’s academy that play in events like the Scottish Challenge Cup and the Scottish Youth Cup.
The Under-20s played in the youth division run by the Scottish Football Division before the Scottish Premier League was established in 1998. After that, an under-20 team participated in the SPFL Development League until its dissolution in 2018. They were the winners of both the inaugural SPL competition and the most recent SFL competition; however, they only repeated as winners in 2014–15.
The Aberdeen Academy has been eligible to play in the UEFA Youth League since 2015, provided their under-17 or under-18 team wins the league for that age group the year before. Albeit, this hasn’t happened yet.

6. Hibernian Academy
With a population of about a million, the Lothian and Borders region surrounding Edinburgh is Hibs’ primary recruiting ground. They are always in competition with Heart of Midlothian to sign the region’s best potential youth players. Numerous players from Hutchison Vale youth club have been signed by both Hibs and Hearts in the past.
The Hibernian Academy received the Investors in People Silver Award in 2016 in recognition of their efforts with youth affiliated with the organisation.

Formerly known as the Scottish Premier Under-20s League, the Heart of Midlothian Under-20 Team plays in the SPFL Development League.
With the launch of Project Brave, an SFA initiative to concentrate the development of the best young players at a smaller number of clubs with superior facilities and coaching than was previously the case, the Hearts Academy was one of eight nationwide to be awarded “elite” status in 2017.
The under-20 team practices at Heriot-Watt University’s Riccarton and plays its home games at Ochilview Park in Stenhousemuir.
8. Clyde FC Academy
Scottish League Two is home to Clyde Football Club, a semi-professional football team. The club began operations in 1877 along the River Clyde in Glasgow. From 1994 until 2022, they played their home games at Broadwood Stadium before moving to New Douglas Park.
For the SFL’s Reserve League Cup tournament, Clyde assembled a reserve team made up of young players and fringe members of the first team. In May 2008, the team won the Reserve League Cup for the first time. On their home pitch at Almondvale, they defeated Livingston 4-1, with Dave McKay accounting for all four Clyde goals. It was the first silverware the team had won at the reserve level in twenty years. The next year, Ross County eliminated the team in the semi-finals, 3–0 in Dingwall.

9. Central Girls Football Academy
Grangemouth, Central Scotland, is home to the women’s football team, Central Girls Football Academy.
They joined the highest-tier women’s football competition in Scotland, the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL), in 2018. After winning the third-division Scottish Women’s Football League Division 1 North in 2017, they are currently in the second tier, SWPL2. The club has “Imagine, Believe, Achieve” as its motto.
Additionally, Central has a squad that competes in the SWFL2 Central League, which is the fourth tier of Scottish women’s football. The home ground for the SWFL team is Inchyra Park in Grangemouth.
